4月6日（水）ジェーン・バーキン

こんにちは、編集Mです。
震災に心を痛めたジェーン・バーキンが、今夜コンサートをしました。
たくさんの外国の方が日本を離れる中で、日本を励ますためだけに、
ひとり、勇敢に、日本にきてくれた。
そして、歌を歌ってくれた。
震災や原発、いろいろなことがあったこの１カ月、
これほどに、心に寄り添う言葉がほかにあったろうか。
ジェーンがコンサートの最後にステージからくれた言葉、
わたしが聞き書きしているので間違いがあると思うけど、
声を震わせ、一生懸命に思いを伝えてくれたジェーン・バーキンの気持ちが、
誰かの今日の励みになりますように。

I wanted to come to Japan very very much
because I've loved you for a very very long time
40 years when I came here pregnant with Charlotte
40 years when I rode off the airplane
and I've never loved the country as much
and I've never felt at home as much

so when this awful tragedy arrived in your country
and when I saw that you had the earthquakes and tsunami
and then you had the nuclear centers
I thought what can I do
what can I do to say how much I want to be with them

there is the one answer to that
and that is to be with you
so that all I can do is to be with you

if you can send a message to those boys and women and children upnorth

how much we think of them

how much in France how much in England
how much in the whole world we had merge your courage
which has been about anything we would be capable of being
that you showed something
which really has made us suddenly understand you
and understand we in any circumstances would never be able to be like you

thank you for that lesson
of courage and kindness to other people
and so for the people upnorth
where we can't get up to

they who have lost everything

震災があってから、大好きな日本にすごく来たかった
シャルロットがおなかにいるときに、初めて日本に来てからもう40年
こんなに愛した国はほかにない

地震や津波、そして原発
とてつもない悲劇がこの国を襲ってから
わたしになにができるだろうかと考えていた
日本の人たちと一緒にいたいと伝えるために
わたしになにができるかと

わたしにいまできることは、ここでみんなと一緒にいること

だから、どうか、どうか伝えて
東北にいるみんなへ、少年や女性や子どもたちへ
東京にいるみんなが彼らにメッセージを送れるとしたら

わたしたちがどれだけ東北のみんなのことを思っているか
フランスやイギリス、そして世界の誰もが
みんなを勇気づけるためになにができるかを考えてる
そして、東北のみんなのように勇敢でやさしくなれる人は
この世界のどこにもいない
人はこんなにも人にやさしくできる
それを教えてくれてありがとう

東北に行くことができないけれど
すべてを失ってしまった人たちに、この歌を届けることができたなら
日本で、東京で、今夜、東北のみなさんのために歌います
